Pre-Commission Cleaning

Pre-Commission Cleaning is a process to remove unwanted debris such as mill scale, swarf and construction debris from newly installed pipework systems such as LTHW and Chilled water systems in order to prepare the system for commissioning in a clean state and protect in the long term from corrosion, scale and bacteria.

The process utilizes chemicals and flushing procedures set out in BSRIA guidelines AG29/2012. This guideline gives details of the process involved and should be interpreted by a skilled professional to apply the process to each individual new system. Howlett Associates have a team of technically trained and experienced technicians to undertake pre commission cleaning of new pipework systems.

Howlett Associates are founder members of the CSCA (Closed System Control Association) which gives added assurance to our clients of our technical expertise in pre commission cleaning and is backed by independent audits of our processes and procedures from the CSCA assessors.
